TOKYO - superdeluxe witnessed the return of lightrhythm’s audiovisual sessions “visualux” as artists turned it out to launch the new dvd releases Notations 02 and Koob’s. A multi-screen setup allowed artists to fill the atmosphere of roppongii’s top venue and bonus screenings and a “hidden ora” session from shantell martin kept it vibrant between the stunning lives.
NEW YORK: Lightrhythm artists will be performing at New Yorks Natural History Museum on January 16. Special guest VJ Scott Draves and resident artist Benton-C Bainbridge will be highlighted at the event which also boasts complimentary screenings of the Space Show Passport to the Universe — an exhilarating flight through a virtual re-creation of our universe. Scott Draves will be presenting high resolution video art on screens in the Hall of the Universe and VJ’ing on the AstroBulletin and the underside of the Planetarium dome sphere via SeeJ’s dazzling mirror array.

TOKYO : VJ REEL and Ben Sheppee are presenting work at the new 3d Dome space “Orihalcon” as part of the opening of the new cinematic experience produced by Toshiyuki Takahei. ONLINE : Lightrhythm is taking part an the online broadcast event for Digital Fringe Festival 2008 October the 9th. Titled Netlag - the event will bring together NewYork, Melbourne, Perth and Tokyo for a series of interconnected events happening simultaneously, including everything from a Mobile Projection Unit (roaming streets of Melbourne, projecting the event signal onto walls) to a 9am DJ set from the founder of Create Digital Music+Motion, Peter Kirn. GLOBAL : Lightrhythm is backing the first release of new VJ talent Shantell Martin titled “Koob’s” late this year. The album will be a thorough documentation of her distinct, surreal style of drawing and showcase her groundbreaking techniques in live illustration and projection, following her practice from club to canvas.

Challenging herself with multiple processes and mediums the documentation highlights her positively unique style in an otherwise male dominated digitally occupied visuals scene. With hidden tracks and interviews as extras on the DVD its a real chance to learn about the artists character and a collectors item for all art enthusiasts.

LONDON : Lightrhythm was approached to develop the new animated logo series for UK Based media serving company - Green Hippo - a leading technology company who provide high end visual hardware products for shows such as Beyonce, Cirque de Soleil and the Blue Man Group.
