LRVflyer_Seco.jpgTOKYO : Lightrhythm Visuals and Thrid Ear, organized a release event at Seco Lounge in Shibuya to mark the release of the new compilation DVD “Ryuke – Tokyo Remix Sessions”. Several top lightrhythm acts were billed including VJMMM, Shantell Martin, Ben Sheppee and Kevlar, giving a solid platform for a dynamic audiovisual performance by VJ REEL and Broken Haze.

Key audio performances by the french act - “the shoes” and japanese allstar band “the samos” provided a dancable atmosphere which continued all night. Seco bar - recognized for its multiscreen setup was completely transformed for the event and gave an ideal canvas for the musical acts who were surrounded in everything from live drawing techniques to audio responsive light based arts.

third ear.jpg JAPAN : Lightrhythm has closed a deal with Japanese music management group - Third Ear Ltd - to supply all majorJapanese music outlets (and smaller cooler ones) with the complete Lightrhythm DVD collection. Third Ear is  responsible for the festival Sonar Japan and hosts a well networked team of promoters and publishers taking care of other acts such as Senior Coconut and Ken Ishi.

Begining in April 2008 Lightrhythm DVDs will be available at a price of ¥2500 and a full promotion campaign will support the opening sales including TV appearances on MJTV, promotion through Club Juice Music Magazine, and an extensive online promotion by Alien-eye to help spread the word that product is in stores.

Highlighting the simultaneous worldwide releases of the new album “Easy Action by Boom Boom Satellites and the opening title of new Japanime Studio Oxybot, 12 lightrhythm artists were commissioned top produce visual remixes of the new movie “Vexille” a new production from the makers of ”Appleseed”.

Varying approaches to the remix project range from the collage techniques of Shantell Martin to the virtual film interfaces by Flapper3 each bringing something new and fresh to the films rich style of rendering.

Aimed as a workspace for part time promotional staff, visual artists and producers, the office will support the distribution of DVDs in Asia and help to develop relationships with Japanese artists.

Always innovative and utterly inspiring, the captivating first in Lightrhythm’s new series “Notations 01″ showcases handpicked artists from Europe, Japan and the Americas. Continuing to deliver imaginative content and hosting award winning artists “Notations 01” descends into stores from October the 25th.

The name, inspired by the book “Notations” (compiled by John Cage) aimed to also explore the new techniques in visualization of sound in the same way that Cage inspired new forms of written music. For this reason Lightrhythm consciously sought out matured approaches to a diversity of music. The result encompasses a full spectrum of sound and light; classical compositions, electronic interpretations; each track unearthing a fresh, motivating re-approach towards visual arts and vjing. The works fill an expanse of imagination and intellect, a playful choreographed of light, shape and sound. Varying approaches yield a range of moods from the day dreamscapes of “Lake” to the awakening rhythms of “Ellis Jones” and “Gravith”.

125x125.jpg SPAIN : 9 Lightrhythm artists are participating in the “Repeat Please: VJ Culture” exhibition in Cordoba, Spain; an exhibition curated by the ZEMOS98 collective for Eutopia 07. The project is an informative exhibition about the culture of video jockeys, or VJs – creators of the audiovisuals of the present and the future.

This exhibition has a strong focus on information, and includes a demo area allowing hands-on access to VJ software and hardware, videos and interactive audiovisual installations. An exhibition catalogue will be published with specialised texts on the different areas of the exhibition and images of the works included in it. This catalogue will be the first of its kind published in Spain, and to contribute to the social expansion of the concepts it covers, it will also be available in PDF format.

Presenting screenings, performances, and multi-media art the event attempts to build bridges between the technology capitol and the rest of the world through visual arts and vj communities.

Visualux is a social audiovisual immersive experience, with interactive and cinematic moments and showcases audiovisual talents and technologies from around the world. From refined experimentation to a environmental installations a range of AV techniques are being explored over the course the year with special presentations by visiting artists and local contemporaries.

11-15mini.jpgWORLDWIDE – The highly anticipated Singles 11-15 is the latest VJ compilation DVD from Lightrhythm Visuals. Available March 06th 2007, the album includes collaborative sessions from some stunning world renowned artists like CTRL and VJ MMM (some of the minds behind the Japanese software Motiondive). Lightrhythm heavyweights Ben Sheppee, and Kevlar tangle with VJ REEL (insector labo) and hold their own next to top EU producers VJ Anyone (voted number 3 on the DJ Magazines VJ charts) and VJ Oxygen (Holland). The “Upstate Old Master” Benton C Bainbridge for this release uses historic analog video synthisizers. His efforts are then recontextualized by Pixelshifter in their custom visual software r:Dog.

Singles 11-15 is the result of 18 months of carefully guided efforts. All said, more than 15 artists contributed DVD elements to this looping visuals album. Perfect a VJ mixing material.
