Working in the fields of motion-graphics, installation-art and visual performance, Olga likes to explore new ways of physical representation in digital media. Her work often relates to architecture, public-environments and urban themes. With a stong emphasis to conceptual approaches, she aim to translate various crossover-fields in my work. The human body has also been a main theme in her work. She explored this fascination by re-arranging and composing pieces of the human body into new forms, to create a new experience of time and space. By use of rectangular screens and a threedimensional projection set-up, a sophisticated visual environment has been developed. The multi-screen installation “Ballet Mechanique” (2001) was exposed at various theaters and venues over the years. When performing live, Oxygen often collaborates with Dutch composer Michel Banabila. Their audio-visual live set is based on electronic and abstract themes, with an atmospheric approach to live cinema. Occasionally we perform together with trumpettist Eric Vloeimans. Symbiose between sound and image is being accomplished with visually dramatic movements and the intruiging atmospheric sounds. Next to her work as a media-artist, she develops educational concepts, VJ-workshops and curates various audiovisual and art related events, recently organising Visual_Active during State of the Image Festival in Anrhem.
