While completing a degree in sculpture Ryan persued the mesemerizing effect that video installations had on its audience. His BFA thesis was a video installation utilizing 23 televisions and a camera with various content loops which critiqued the media’s role in shaping conciousness. A VJ friend of his who provided technical assistance on the project soon got him into projections and video mixing, and
in March 2003, his first VJ gig.

Since then, DRNZ has performed on a regular basis at events of all sizes, from experimental coffeeshop nights to 8,000 person mega-massives. He has had the privilege of working alongside such diverse artists as DJ-Qbert, Kaskade, TC Izlam, DJ Tiesto, Freq Nasty, KRS-One and others. He resides in Denver but travels whenever possible. He is excited and honored to be part of the Lightrhythm team and looks forward to future collaborations.
